Re-open schools NOW!

In response to the omicron variant, provinces across Canada have shut down in-person learning for schools.

Thousands of students are being punished because of the government’s inability to manage Canada’s health care system.

It’s been almost three years of dealing with COVID-19. Have our politicians not learned anything?

For example, the science shows COVID-19 is NOT a threat to kids. According to Health Canada, Canadians aged 0-19 experience the lowest hospitalization rate. In fact, the COVID case-fatality rate for Canadians under the age of 20 is 0.002%. 

COVID wouldn’t even make the list of the top 10 causes of death for children.

So why are our schools closed?

School closures have resulted in an unprecedented amount of issues for children – their mental health is deteriorating, children are suffering from a decline in language and speech skills and online sexual exploitation of children has increased during the pandemic.

There is no science to justify the closure of schools.

Governments across Canada need to re-open schools NOW.
